Amador County in Bloom

Everything's coming up daylilies for Jeanne Deaver and her crew at Amador Flower Farm! Deaver, longtime gardener and daylily enthusiast is the owner of Amador Flower Farm a 14 acre daylily farm located in the Shenandoah Valley just off Highway 49 near the town of Plymouth. What began as a small mail-order daylily business has become a thriving retail nursery and gift shop with acres of demonstration gardens, walking trails and picnic areas open to the public year round. The Amador Flower Farm now has over 800 varieties of daylilies available on site, by catalog and at their website www.amadorflowerfarm.com.

The demonstration gardens are planted with 300 varieties of unusual perennials and are lovely throughout the entire season. The peak season for the daylily bloom is May through July, but late season and re-bloomers show off through fall. October is pumpkin patch time at the farm as hundreds of school children crawl through the hay bale tunnel, are challenged by the corn maze, sing songs and take home pumpkins grown at the farm. All of their events are open to the public and there is no admission fee. Amador Flower Farm is located 4.5 miles outside of Plymouth in Amador County's Shenandoah Valley wine region and is open daily.
