The Amador County Chamber of Commerce is
pleased to announce Kathleen Harmon of the Interfaith Food Bank and
Floyd Martin of the American Legion as this year's selections for the
7th Annual 2010 Margaret Dalton Golden Nugget Awards. The awards dinner will be held on March
12, 2010 at Thomi's in Jackson. This prestigious award is given to
Amador County's unsung heroes, an inspiration of the
late Margaret Dalton, Jackson Rancheria's Tribal
Chairperson for over 25 years.

Kathleen Harmon
Kathleen Harmon is one of Amador County’s proudest assets. The
Executive Director of Amador County’s Interfaith Food Bank has been
selected to receive the 2010 Margaret Dalton Golden Nugget Award.
Kathleen oversees the fundraising and procurement of food to operate
the daily food distribution, recruitment and management of the 100%
volunteer staff. In fact, the Food Bank needs at least 60 volunteers
each week to operate.
And while the Food Bank is a full time job,
Kathleen is involved with California Association of Food Banks,
Community Health Awareness Council, Connecting Hands, Progressive
Women’s Network, Amador County Women’s Network, Disaster
Preparedness Task Force, Homeless Task Force, an active member of
worship team at Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene, Member of
Sierra Gold Quilt Guild, Volcano Theater Company and Faces of
Amador.
Kathleen is not only an asset to the community
but also a great human being who gives her time and efforts
unselfishly to others and we are proud to honor her as one of our
Golden Nugget winners.
Floyd
Martin
Floyd Martin is a twenty-four-year,
Paid up for Life (PUFL) member of The American Legion. His history
with The American Legion includes service through Post, District and
Department Chairs. Floyd is a Vietnam era veteran who served
in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964. Since his discharge
he has continually contributed to his community, Amador County. He
has coached and umpired youth baseball for many years and is an
Honorary Member of the Amador County Little League Association. He
has also supported the Sober Graduation Program; served on the board
of directors for the local volunteer fire department, and was one of
four founders who created the Pioneer Community Park. Floyd
currently serves our veterans as the Amador County Veterans Service
Officer. He has held this position for ten years. These are just a
few of the highlights and accomplishments for which we are honoring
Floyd at the Golden Nuggets Awards dinner next month.
Floyd has been married to his wife
Mary for forty-five years. They have two daughters, Robyn and
Amanda, and four beautiful granddaughters.
Please join us on Friday,
March 12th at Thomi’s Banquet Hall in Jackson to honor and celebrate
