"Soup's On" is always a welcome announcement from any kitchen.  The Interfaith Food Bank will be saying those words on Sunday, Oct. 11th, 2009.  at the Amador County Senior Center in Jackson.  Serving will begin at 11:00 A:M and finish at 2:00P:M.  Four restaurants will be providing the soup.  Choose a flavor that appeals to you.  Mexican Meatball from Jose's Mexican Restaurant, Chicken from the Imperial Hotel, Minestrone from Strings, and Vegetarian from Beth Sogaard's Catering. Joining these wonderful restaurants this year is the food-nutritional department of Sutter Amador Hospital, who will prepare Clam Chowder. Interfaith Food BankIn addition to soup; French bread donated by Pokerville Market in Plymouth and Save Mart in Martell will be served.  Cookies from Safeway and Tommy's and beverages will complete the luncheon.  Starbucks will provide the coffee.

Entertainment is new.  We are sure you will enjoy listening to the Amador High School Jazz Band, Steve Johnson, a great singer, and "Work in Progress", a string quartet.

Feel lucky? Over 40 raffle items to try to win.  Take home an "empty bowl" made by Rand Huggett and class from Amador High, as well as John Pretto's students from Argonaut High School.  These bowls will serve as a reminder that there are many "empty bowls" which need filling in our community.  Soup will be served in disposable bowls for the luncheon thus allowing each guest to take home a pottery bowl as a memento of the event.

Cost of the luncheon is $15.00.  Tickets are being sold at Rare Exception in Martell, Squirrel's Nest and More than Just Hair in Sutter Creek; in Plymouth, Gianandrea Insurance. You may also purchase them at the door on Sunday, Oct. 11th. Please make your check out to The Interfaith Food Bank.
