Bo Marks, Jackson RancheriaJackson Rancheria elects Bo Marks Tribal Chairperson

The Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians announced this morning, the results of a special election to fill the seat vacated by the passing of longtime Chairperson.

As set forth in the Tribe’s election ordinance, a committee of Tribal members conducted the election at a 6:00 p.m. gathering of the Tribe’s General Council Thursday.

 

Margaret DaltonLongtime Tribal Vice Chairman, Irvin “Bo” Marks was elected to the office of Tribal Chairperson, a position his sister Margaret held, uncontested, for 30 years. The Tribe also elected Adam Dalton to the office of Tribal Vice Chairman, and Dennis Dalton to a Tribal Council Member at Large seat.

 The Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians was first recognized by the Federal Government in 1898, and in 2010 will celebrate their gaming operation’s 25th anniversary.
