In the last weekend of July the Amador County Fair, lauded as one
of the last true country fairs in the state, is a magnet for out-of-towners as
well as locals. Among usual events of this four-day fair are a destruction
derby, rodeo, animal judging and horse show, displays of antique equipment, plus
